Hi Friend, I’m Nicole.
I’m a nurse, writer, and believer in second (and third… and fourth) chances.
My story isn’t a straight line. It’s more like a winding trail through storms, valleys, and breathtaking views. Along the way, I’ve learned that the messy middle can be just as important as the mountaintop.
This space? It’s not about pretending life is perfect.
It’s about creating a safe place for women to catch their breath, gather strength, and remember who they are.
If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve been through something—maybe a lot of somethings—that have left you feeling like life is heavier than it should be. I get it, because I’ve lived it. My story isn’t a neat little highlight reel. It’s messy, real, and filled with moments I was positive would break me. But here’s the thing: they didn’t.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been the kind of person who holds it all together for everyone else. I was the helper, the fixer, the strong one. Underneath? I was exhausted, anxious, and sometimes wondering if there would ever be a day I could just breathe without feeling like the weight of the world was on my shoulders.
I grew up in a childhood that was far from easy—one that left its marks in ways you can’t always see. I carried those scars into adulthood, thinking I could outrun them. But trauma doesn’t just go away because you want it to. I found myself in an abusive relationship as an adult, repeating patterns I thought I’d escaped. I learned the hard way that healing isn’t just about leaving a bad situation—it’s about unlearning everything it taught you to believe about yourself.
Every scar became part of the map back to myself. And God never stopped showing up.. even when I did.
From Surviving to Serving
I worked for 18 years as a CNA before continuing my education toward becoming an RN. My career has been built on caring for people—patients, families, coworkers—often while putting my own needs dead last. Nursing has taught me a lot about compassion, resilience, and human strength. But it’s also shown me the toll it takes when you’re always pouring from an empty cup.
While caring for others has always been second nature to me, there came a point when I realized I had to learn to care for myself—mind, body, and soul—or I was going to burn out completely. That moment didn’t happen in some big dramatic scene; it was a slow realization over months of exhaustion, frustration, and that deep ache that says, “I can’t keep doing this.”
The Turning Point
I started seeking real change. Not quick fixes. Not just “self-care” bubble baths (though those are nice). I needed to rebuild my life from the inside out—mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually.
That journey included:
- Facing my past instead of burying it.
- Therapy and trauma recovery work, including EMDR and EFT tapping, to rewire the nervous system that had been on high alert for decades.
- Faith restoration, reconnecting with God after feeling spiritually lost.
- Lifestyle changes—building better health habits, managing stress, and actually listening to my body.
- Learning boundaries and how to stand in my own worth without guilt.
It wasn’t overnight. It wasn’t pretty. But little by little, I began to feel human again.
Why I Created This Space
This blog isn’t just a collection of tips and pretty pictures. It’s a place where I share the real, raw, and redeeming parts of life. It’s where I can pour into you the way I wish someone had poured into me years ago.
I believe women are stronger than they realize. I believe you can rebuild, even from the deepest heartbreak. And I believe that your story matters—not just for you, but for the people who will be inspired by the fact that you didn’t quit.
Here you’ll find:
- Tools and resources to help you heal, grow, and thrive
- Practical advice you can actually use in everyday life
- Stories that remind you you’re not alone
- Encouragement for when you feel like giving up
Life Now: Still Growing, Still Learning
Today, I’m balancing my nursing career, my studies, my family, and this passion project that lights me up. I’m a wife, a mom, a believer, a friend, and a woman still learning every day. I hike trails to clear my head. I read the Bible with a highlighter in one hand and coffee in the other. I’m constantly jotting down ideas for this blog in the notes app on my phone.
And most importantly? I’m committed to living authentically and helping you do the same—without pretending it’s all perfect.
Your Turn
If you’ve made it this far, thank you for being here. I don’t take your time or trust lightly. My hope is that something you find here will feel like a light turning on in a dark room—a reminder that no matter what you’ve been through, there’s more ahead for you.
So, welcome. Pull up a chair. This is a safe space.
